“How far north can we go and get good accommodations?” you ask the man
behind the counter in the Immigration Office.
He directs you to a map, puts a finger on the south finger of Hudson ’s Bay.
“James Bay ,” he says, “but it’s a two
day trip. Good accommodations all the
way.”
“Great,” you thank him and leave.
“We’re in great shape,” you say to everyone as your SUV goes back on the
road. The kids are amazingly quiet, but
then seeing all this new wilderness is distracting them. You wonder if they have any idea that this
more than just quick vacation trip.
